1951 - Kirstie Louise Alley was born January 12, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas. Alley has kept her roots in Wichita and continues to own a home in the College Hill area of town.
1969 - Alley graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1969 where she was also a cheerleader. She attended Kansas State University briefly before moving to Los Angeles to become an Interior Designer.
1979 - Alley became a member of the Church of Scientology in 1979. She has continued her Scientology training. As part of her community service with the church she has opened several literacy and tutoring centers across the US including in Wichita called Lillie's Learning Place, named after her daughter. The Wichita location opened in 1995.
1979 - While doing Interior Design she also appeared as a contestant on the popular game shows “Match Game” and “Password Plus.”
1982 - Alley made her film debut in 1982 in ``Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan,`` in which she played Vulcan officer Lieutenant Saavik.
1987 - Alley starred alongside Mark Harmon in comedy film “Summer School.” Later that year she joined the cast of the long-running hit NBC sitcom “Cheers” as Rebecca Howe. She remained on the show until the series ended in 1993.
1995 - She was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California on November 9, 1995. Alley has received six Golden Globe ® and eight Emmy ® Award nominations. She has won a Golden Globe, two Emmys and two People’s Choice Awards.
1997 – Alley starred with John Travolta in the film ``Look Who’s Talking.`` The successful film spawned two more movies in which Kirstie starred: ``Look Who’s Talking Too`` and ``Look Who’s Talking Now.`` Every holiday season since 2007 she has delighted neighbors and Wichitans with a festive Christmas village from the set of her 1993 movie, “Look Who’s Talking Now.”
2011 - In February 2011, Alley was announced as a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.” She was partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Alley finished the competition in second place, behind NFL Super Bowl champion Hines Ward. She also took part in the 2012 season of Dancing with the Stars but was the 7th celebrity eliminated.
