Wichita To Host 2018 Synchronized Ice Skating Sectional At Intrust Bank Arena

Good news! Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena has officially been selected as a host site for the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Sectional.

There will be about 2,500 skaters Jan. 24-28, 2018 in competition. Athletes will be practicing at the Wichita Ice Center.

The US Figure skating’s official website, reports the top four skaters in the ladies and men’s events at each of the nine regional championships will qualify for one of three sectional championships. The top four finishers at each level in each discipline at the sectional championships will earn a berth to the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Championships Dec. 29, 2017-Jan. 7, 2018, in San Jose, Calif. The sectional championships are the only qualifying phase for pairs and ice dance.

The top four finishers at the synchronized sectional championships will earn a berth to the 2018 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, the location and dates for which will be announced at a later date.
