The Friends of the Wichita Art Museum roll out the welcome mat at the Wichita Art Museum for art lovers and book lovers during their annual Art and Book Fair, a Mother’s Day weekend tradition for 60 years. This will be the final year for this event so we’ve got a lot of fun stuff planned!

The Art Fair
Tents will be scattered around the museum’s grounds displaying a wide variety of works made by artists from far away and local favorites. The art fair will feature the works of 46 artists from 14 states across the US who have been selected through a jury application process. There are outstanding works of art in painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry, 3D and 2D multimedia, fiber, wood, glass, and printmaking.

The Book Fair
Book collectors from all over the region flock to this annual event to look for great finds in new, gently used and rare books. Thousands of books in every conceivable genre will be available inside the Museum.

In addition to art and books, throughout the Fair there will be musical entertainment to enjoy as you stroll through the artist booths or browse the tables of books. Enjoy performances by Randy Rathbun and his instrumental group, Pam Lawson and the Goodard High School Orchestra, Nikki Moddelmog, Tribe Atomic Belly Dance, and others.

Lunch and Snacks
The Muse Cafe will offer expanded hours this Mother’s Day Weekend in conjunction with the Friends of the Wichita Art Museum Art and Book Fair. Café hours will be 11 am to 4 pm both days. The Muse Cafe will serve a special menu on Saturday and Mother’s Day Specials on Sunday. And outside food trucks will be on hand selling lunch and snacks.

Linnebur & Miller Art Photography
Artists Linnebur and Miller will create one-of-a-kind, O’Keeffe-inspired photo portraits for purchase by costuming and posing individuals, friends, and families in an art scenario. Printed photos will be available at the event, with digital copies emailed later.
