Whether we’re barbers or photographers or teachers…we’re all storytellers. Celebrate Black History Month at the Maya Angelou Branch Library with stories about or written/illustrated by African-Americans and read by local leaders and doers in our community.

Troy Franklin of Franklin’s Barber and Beauty Salon will delight children with Bippity Bop Barbershop, the story of a young boy going for his first haircut and worried about what will happen. Then we’ll make “grass head guys” in cups to practice hair cutting technique. The program is for ages 3 and up.
