PARADE STARTS AT 11 AM.

Parade registration forms must be received by October 6th. Late registrants will be placed at the back of the parade on a first come, first served basis.

2017 Theme: “Vintage Rose Hill“

Entry categories include a vehicle, vehicle with trailer, horses, tractors, walkers and other. Prizes awarded on what float best represents the theme – Vintage Rose Hill.

NO COST TO ENTER.
– Staging will be held in a different location this year (not the high school parking lot). More details will be sent out closer to the date of the parade.
– COMPETITION FLOATS SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 9:30 AM and check-in with a Parade Official, who will direct them
to their assigned location. JUDGING WILL BEGIN AT 10:00 AM sharp. Any competition floats that are not in position by 10:00 am will not be judged. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place based upon the overall interpretation of this year’s theme – “Vintage Rose Hill.”

– NON-COMPETITION FLOATS SHOULD ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 10:15 AM and check-in with a Parade Official.
– Failure to be in the assigned location on time may forfeit the entrant’s rights and may cause them to be placed in the back of the line.
– THE PARADE WILL START PROMPTLY at 11:00 AM.
– The Parade will start near the High School & end at Berlin St.
– Additional details (position #, where to enter, etc.) will be e-mailed to all registered floats the week of Oct. 9th.

RULES
– Parade positions are determined by the Parade Committee and are subject to change at our discretion.
– Wrapped candy may only be tossed (gently) from the participants walking in the parade. Candy CANNOT be thrown from the floats or vehicles due to safety concerns.
– Please be careful of the children running into the street to retrieve candy.
– All vehicles, floats, horses & participants must remain in the assigned parade formation on the street at all times.
– Riding/walking in the ditches and easements is not permitted. Horses, especially, must not stray from the street (before, during or after the parade) due to waste disposal/clean-up concerns.
– Floats and/or participants are not allowed to stop in the middle of the route for presentations as it impedes the progress of the parade.
– All vehicles, floats, horses & participants must remain in the assigned parade formation on the street at all times.
– The Parade Committee reserves the right to determine other rules and procedures, if needed.
