Come to LAPO on Friday July 7th and your admission will cover both the visual program and photographic program for the night! We will be photographing the large globular cluster M13 using staff provided equatorial mounted 8″ telescopes. In the event of poor sky transparency or wind we may change the photographic target to an open star cluster or the moon, if the sky is completely cloudy or raining the program will be postponed to a later date.
Intervalometer or shutter release cable
The observatory staff will let you use a camera if you do not have one, remember to bring a USB drive or SD card to take your photos home! We have a few shutter releases but they are not compatible with all camera types/brands.
Staff members Kris and Brent will be present to help you take your photos, talk about equipment/set up, and give advice on software processing techniques.
Please message us on facebook or email photography director Kris Flory at [email protected] if you have any questions.
