Psyclon Nine: Icon of the Adversary
Since forming in the year 2000 Psyclon Nine has cemented it’s name into the history books as one of the most infamous and successful bands of the Industrial and Metal crossover genres.
Each of Psyclon Nine’s 5 full-length releases have charted internationally appearing in the Top 10 of the DAC and landing a position on the Top 200 Billboard Rock Charts in the USA. Their music video for Parasitic would go on to become the most viewed Industrial music video at over 5 million views and counting.
Psyclon Nine garnered a large, die-hard fan base while touring with Metropolis Records label mates Mindless Self Indulgence as well as other international acts such as Mushroomhead,TigerArmy and appearing as a headlining act three times at the Wave Gotik Treffen festival in Leipzig Germany to an audience of over 30,000 fans.
After their recent, successful Infektion Divinum Tour in the USA in which they focused heavily on their early material, Psyclon Nine is preparing to tour in anticipation of their 6th full length album : Icon of the Adversary.
Icon of the Adversary has been described as the most ambitious effort of singer / songwriter Nero Bellum as it showcases the multifaceted palette and ever-evolving direction of Psyclon Nine. Icon of the Adversary would be the first Psyclon Nine album to be fully produced by Nero Bellum at his HellmouthProductions Studio in Los Angeles, CA.
Metropolis Records has this to say about Icon Of The Adversary – “Blending concussive, machine-precise drums, hammering guitars, scathing vocals & evil electronics, the band is the epitome of dark metal industrial. The band’s creative force, Nero Bellum, says he had to travel to a very dark place to make this album, & it shows. Stunning & unrelentingly evil, Psyclon Nine’s finest album to date.”
With the production of a new music video to promote their upcoming single, a press campaign to back the the album, the support of Metropolis Records and the rekindling of the classic Psyclon Nine lineup, the Icon of the Adversary Tour of the Worm should see Psyclon Nine at its finest.
Short for “me and my shadow”, MXMS is the multimedia project of singer Ariel Levitan and pianist Jeremy Dawson(of Shiny Toy Guns). The two met in Los angeles after Ariel moved from New York City in the late summer of 2013. Harbored feelings and trauma each had hidden away for a lifetime floated to the surface in Jeremy’s studio they lovingly refer to as “the grave”…. Each story, each moment in their lives they recorded into a lyric, a song, into a vision. Starting with the song”omg”, their dual documented story of a violent, toxic life was born.
“MXMS’s music frequently swells from lush yet painfully intimate lows to rousing and inspirational cinematic highs, demanding to be mined for a transformative film montage. The duo relishes straddling the fine line between light and dark–as well as navigating, and often deliberately disrupting, the fault line between their fierce desires to both shun industry norms, and to share their music with the world.” –Kurt McVey for Interview Magazine
