Cellist and singer songwriter, Roni Lowry, plays inspirational music while raising awareness about coral conservation and climate change. She (me) will be volunteering at the Coral Restoration Foundation this summer for a couple weeks and will be collecting donations at this gig.
Marine plants like algae and phytoplankton convert light energy into chemical energy through photosynthesis which contributes to about 85% of Earth’s oxygen. The reef, home to these marine plants, is the largest living creature and is estimated to die within our lifetime if we do not make some changes. Ken Nedimyer has done extremely amazing work in Florida to manipulate the coral growth. He is reporducing the coral that have the strongest genes and can withstand the rising acidity levels in the oceans.
If you are unable to make it to the event or if you prefer to donate online, please feel free to do so here… Thank you!
